My children enjoyed the rough and tumble of childhood games too much to be encumbered by jewellery and the birthday parties they attended were hardly sedate affairs where they could have worn their Sunday best, by the time they could be trusted to take care they had outgrown their Christening jewellery.   The books they were given were lovely and enjoyed many times at bedtime by children and grown-ups alike, however they are now on the bookcase, maybe one day to be enjoyed by our children’s children, but for now gathering dust in anticipation!
