I had the wonderful opportunity today to sit down with the people at Green Mountain Coffee Roasters and I truly appreciated their hospitality. But there were a few things I sincerely noticed as I got a bit more familiar with the faces and voices of the company. 1.Green Mountain is a successful operation and they are doing big things in a small town. This at times results in backlash from the local community and especially one as environmentally driven as Waterbury, VT But they have worked diligently to create partnership with good folks here in Vermont. I have met plenty of locals who are in fact proud and supportive of the products and initiatives Green Mountain Coffee Roasters takes to create community and strive towards a healthy environment. Beyond that GMCR cares not just about Waterbury, VT but they also care about the countries and people in which their coffee is grown and produced. It speaks volumes about the overall mission of the company. 2.When dealing with marketing and PR people you sometimes expect a used car salesman. Not here at GMCR. Nobody tried to sell me a used Cadillac. It was just good honest people who wanted to demonstrate their acts of community involvement and efforts to sustain and conserve. 3.The coffee is honestly extremely good.
